Ah Mahs and Concrete Lilies
Lawyer Koh Tien Gui’s pastel works, entitled “Ah Mahs and Concrete Lilies”, will capture and charm you. “Ah Mah’s”, the quintessential domestic maids of the 1950s, were
female Chinese immigrants who wore their signature long braids and were renowned for their frugality and die-hard loyalty to their employers.
Tien Gui has showcased his works in Geneva, Switzerland and Singapore over the past five years. All proceeds will go towards funding & providing for the
care of cleft & craniofacial patients in Singapore and the region.
This exhibition also endeavours to create public awareness and funding for future
mission trips around this region.
